"Lights, Camera, Decorate!" Sears Is Searching for America's Most Festive Home

Holiday Decorating Enthusiast Could Win a $10,000 Sears Shopping Spree

During the holidays, do you plug in so many strands of Christmas lights outside your house that your local power company sends you a thank you card?

If you're one of the millions of Americans who begin "decking the halls" for the winter holidays before the Thanksgiving leftovers are cold, then the "Sears Search for America's Most Festive Home contest" is for you. Honoring holiday decorators who light up the holidays with thousands of twinkling lights or create a landing strip on their roof for Santa's sleigh, the contest will award a $10,000 Sears gift card to the grand prize winner. Second and third place winners will receive a $5,000 and $2,500 Sears gift card, respectively, with seven honorable mention winners receiving a $1,000 Sears gift card.

"There are always enthusiastic holiday decorators who create a welcoming ambiance in their neighborhoods," said Greg Inwood, divisional merchandise manager of seasonal shops for Sears. "The 'Sears Search for America's Most Festive Home contest' salutes these neighborhood elves who provide us with an extra dose of holiday cheer each year."

Entries will include 10 (ten) photos of the outside of the home decked out for the holidays, and a 200 word (or less) essay that describes your plan, passion and dedication for holiday decorating. Entries will be judged on creativity, thematic presentation and visual impact.

Entries can be submitted via mail or e-mail and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2002 (EST). For a complete set of rules, visit www.hunterpr.com/news_searsfestivehomerules.html, e-mail searsfestivehome@hunterpr.com or call 212-679-6600, ext. 224 and request a copy of rules be sent to you.
