Sears Donates Merchandise Worth More Than $5,000 to Durango Shelter Local Relief Efforts

  WHAT:  Sears, Roebuck and Co. donated 1,000 pillows and pillow cases from
  West Point Stevens and Spring Basic Bedding to the Durango Shelter
  assisting the American Red Cross in local relief efforts for residents
  dislocated by wild fires.

  WHERE:  The pillows and pillow cases were needed to aid displaced families
  staying at the American Red Cross Shelter at Bayfield High School in
  Bayfield, Colo.

  BACKGROUND:  In 2001, Sears, its employees and The Sears-Roebuck
  Foundation contributed more than $46 million in funding and merchandise to
  community organizations across the country.  Sears' employees have
  volunteered more than 1.1 million hours to local organizations over the
  past two years.
