Kmart and CeCe Winans Celebrate Black History With Preview of Gospel Music Mobile Museum at the Detroit Public Library, June 19

WHAT: Grammy award winning gospel singer, CeCe Winans, and Kmart spokesperson presents the Kmart-sponsored Smithsonian exhibition, "Wade in the Water: African American Sacred Music Traditions, 1871-2001." The traveling mobile museum multi-city tour includes stops at Kmart stores, schools and other community locations across the country from mid-February through November 2001. In addition, Kmart is partnering with charitable organizations as a part of this community outreach program. Special check presentations will benefit the following recipients: Charles S. Wright African American Museum, The Detroit Public Library, and Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.
