Kmart Names Lori McTavish Vice President of Communications

Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced the appointment of Lori McTavish, 40, to Vice President, Communications, effective May 3, 2001. Reporting directly to David Rots, Kmart's Chief Administrative Officer, McTavish will be responsible for internal and external communications, community affairs and public policy.

"A highly respected communications professional, Lori McTavish is a great addition to the Kmart team and her strong values will be instrumental in the company's continuing effort to build its reputation," said Rots. "As we continue to grow and evolve with innovative ideas that focus on our customers, her diverse communications background will help Kmart communicate effectively and move us forward with all of our audiences."

A 15-year communications veteran, McTavish joins Kmart from her post as Senior Manager, Corporate Media Relations, North America for DaimlerChrysler. She began her career with Chrysler Canada where she was responsible for employee communication and special events. At Chrysler Corporation she also has served as Marketing Programs-PR Manager for the Jeep/Eagle Division and Manager of Corporate News. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
