Kmart Announces Executive Appointments

Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced the appointment of two new executives to strengthen merchandising and logistic capabilities, effective immediately.

Dennis J. Wozniak, 45, has been appointed Vice President, Merchandising, Health Care, Over-the-Counter and Photo Departments, reporting directly to Tony Montini, Senior Vice President, GMM Drug Store Businesses.

Wozniak previously served as Vice President Merchandise Manager for CVS and Senior Vice President, Purchasing/Marketing for Arbor Drugs. He graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing.

In the Logistics area, Paul Springthorpe, 39, has joined Kmart as Vice President, Distribution Operations. Reporting to Tony D'Onofrio, Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer, Springthorpe will be responsible for all aspects of distribution operations.

Prior to joining Kmart, Springthorpe served as President, The Facility Group, based in Smyrna, Georgia. He also held the positions of Executive Vice President, and Vice President with The Facility Group. Springthorpe has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, and a National Diploma in Engineering Technology from the University of Derby, both in England.
