Smithsonian Institution and Kmart Celebrate Black History With Debut of Gospel Music Mobile Museum, Thursday, Feb. 15 at Carmichael Auditorium
WHAT: Gospel singer CeCe Winans, Kmart (NYSE: KM) spokesperson and Grammy Award-winner, will kick-off a mobile museum tour, featuring the Smithsonian exhibition, "Wade in the Water: African American Sacred Music Traditions, 1871-2001." The multi-city trailer-truck tour will include Kmart stores, schools and other community locations across the country from mid-February through November 2001.

In honor of Black History Month, the Smithsonian Institution and Kmart will join forces to bring the public a mobile museum featuring the Smithsonian exhibition, "Wade in the Water: African American Sacred Music Traditions, 1871-2001."
"Wade in the Water: African American Sacred Music Traditions, 1871-2001" is an exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). Kmart, as a part of its national program celebrating Black History, "Share The Word," has made this mobile museum possible.
