Kmart Announces New Chief Technology and eBusiness Officer

Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced that Richard W. Blunck will join the company in the new position of Chief Technology and eBusiness Officer, effective immediately.

Reporting directly to Kmart Executive Vice President Strategic Planning and Chief Information Officer Randy Allen, Blunck will be responsible for information technology strategic planning, identifying emerging technologies that support Kmart's business strategies and the technology interface with Kmart's business to consumer channel BlueLight.com. Additionally, Blunck will represent Kmart on the operating and executive committees of the WorldWide Retail Exchange.

"Richard Blunck is highly regarded as an expert in emerging technologies and he will bring a wealth of talent and experience that will be instrumental as we implement new technology strategies," said Allen.

Blunck comes to Kmart from Deloitte Consulting where he was a senior manager in Deloitte's eBusiness unit Deloitte.com. In this role, he specialized in the retail industry with a specific focus on emerging technology, business to business (B2B) and net market makers. Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting, he was a systems analyst with Ford Motor Credit and associate instructor at Indiana University.

Blunck is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Finance. He also holds an MBA in Management Information Systems/Finance from Indiana University.
