Sears November Comparable Sales Increase 2.8 Percent

Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S) today announced total domestic store revenues for the four weeks ending November 25, 2000 were $2.75 billion. Comparable domestic store revenues increased 2.8 percent. Total domestic store revenues increased 3.7 percent compared to $2.65 billion for the four weeks ending November 27, 1999.

"Our hardlines business showed continued momentum led by double-digit growth in appliances and sporting goods and solid performance in electronics," said President and Chief Executive Officer Alan J. Lacy. "Apparel also posted an increase for November led by solid increases in women's and intimate apparel, footwear and accessories. The Great Indoors and Automotive delivered double digit sales increases for the month. We are particularly pleased that we entered the holiday season on a high note, posting record sales the day after Thanksgiving."
