Sears and Kmart Meet Every Gamer's Needs

Retailer Announces Price Drops on Nintendo Wii and Pre-sale of the Latest Video Game Titles

Video gamers, from novices to experts, know that advancing to the next level takes practice. Today, Sears and Kmart are making it even easier and more affordable for game enthusiasts to bring home the latest titles and systems by announcing online pre-orders and significant price reductions on home entertainment must-haves, including $50 off the Nintendo Wii. With deep discounts and the capability to pre-order online, Sears and Kmart are sure to be the season's one-stop shopping solution for gamers.

Buying a new video game console usually comes with a big-ticket price. But now, thanks to huge price drops on all three gaming systems, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 Elite and Sony PlayStation 3, savvy Sears and Kmart shoppers can keep enough cash in their wallets to have money left over for games--shoppers can save up to $100 on regular priced video game consoles.

Sears and Kmart extend savings on hot video game systems, including:

-- Save $50 on Nintendo Wii; now $199.99, was $249.99
  -- Save $100 on Xbox 360 Elite; now $299.99, was $399.99

  -- Save $100 on Sony PlayStation 3 80GB; now $299.99, was $399.99

For many, being a 'gamer' consists of waiting in long lines or staying up for late night sales. But now, with the online pre-order functionality from Sears.com and Kmart.com, anyone can be among the first to have the newest releases leaving more time to actually use the product. Shoppers looking to satisfy their gaming needs can go to either the Sears or Kmart Web sites and click on the pre-order banner on the Music, Movies and Gaming home page. Visiting either site lets Web surfers select the "Pre-Order Item" button to add the game or hardware to their cart and proceed to checkout.

"Sears and Kmart are committed to providing customers exclusive shopping opportunities, such as online pre-sale programs, to ensure that they have primary access to the hottest video games and systems," said Karen Austin, president, Home Electronics, Sears Holdings. "Sears and Kmart customers are able to choose from a wide selection of top brands with accessories and games compatible with nearly every system on the market. Combine our unbeatable assortment with great prices and our expert sales consultants, and it is easy to see why more savvy shoppers are choosing Sears and Kmart for their home electronics and gaming purchases."

Currently, Sears.com and Kmart.com have extended the online pre-order functionality on the most anticipated games, including:

  -- PSP Go (available 10/01)
  -- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (available 10/13)
  -- Band Hero (available 11/03)
-- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (available 11/10)
-- Guitar Hero: Van Halen (available 12/22)

  -- Bioshock 2 (available 02/09/10)

Sears customers can also secure the latest video games and systems in stores by using the convenient Web kiosks located in home electronics departments. These kiosks can help if a customer is unable to find an item, size or color they are seeking. Additionally, friendly and knowledgeable electronics employees are always ready to help answer any home entertainment questions.

"In a long tradition of providing our customers with additional value both online and in-store, Kmart and Sears also pass savings on to shoppers through tiered shipping and financing options that provide the most ways for you to pay, including layaway and the full range of Sears and Kmart credit financing," stated Austin.

Not only can Sears and Kmart customers conveniently secure game titles through online pre-order and find sought-after hardware systems at reduced prices, they can pay for them with the payment programs they have come to know and trust from Sears and Kmart. The retailers seek to offer customers the broadest range of purchasing flexibility available. In addition to layaway, Sears credit with no payment/no interest financing until February 2010 is available to customers. Also, just in time for the holidays, Kmart and Sears have brought back Christmas Club cards to help savvy shoppers plan ahead and save for their holiday purchases. The combination of the home entertainment pre-order program, deep discounts and flexible payment options provide more ways to Shop Your Way -- and to be rewarded with more playing time.
